Manure

The best fertilizer to grow the best crops to make the best milk to become the tastiest mozzarella cheese!

Manure is a very large portion of our farm. If you live in the area, it might seem like our tractors are hauling tankers a lot! There are many DNR regulations we follow when it comes to spreading manure. We have to take a break from spreading in the winter months, and the growing season also makes us stop hauling for a while.

Our barns are made to clean the manure with a skid steer and easily get it to storage. They are cleaned three times a day and the cows have sand bedding to lay in. The sand also helps keep the cows clean!

Our current project is a sand separating system. This is going to separate the sand bedding and manure. We will be able to reuse the sand. This system will help us in a lot of ways. Check it out on the Current Project Page!

This is a picture of haylage. The manure from the cows helped to grow this crop!
